It’s official. Donald John Trump has become the 45th President of the United States; taking over from the Obama administration which has lasted 8 years. Trump’s presidential campaign has mainly been divisive, with the whole nation being “divided” in the election. Riots have filled the streets, as well as anti-Trump rallies, but, despite this, the innauguration went without failure or interruption. Albeit protests are still continuing.
Although he was expecting a “record breaking” crowd, the turnout was less than imagined;
Afterward his speech, the details of which can be found here, Donald Trump posted a message to all Americans on his Facebook:
To Americans: You will never be ignored again. Your voice, your hopes and your dreams will define our American destiny. Your courage and goodness and love will forever guide us along the way.
Together we will make America strong again. We will make America wealthy again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again – and yes, together, WE WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
According to CNN, Trump has already signed his first bill as President, involving retired Gen. James Mattis to serve as defense secretary, and effectively nullifying the seven year out-of-service requirement. Mattis, of course, must pass the Senate’s confirmation become he’s elected in the role, but it seems Donald is already settling in his newfound role.
An outcry of support for President Obama was felt across all states, as the Democrat left the office with his wife and first lady, Michelle Obama, and handed the reigns over to the 45th President of the United States. Civillian life awaits the Obama family who must now adapt to life outside the White House – their home for 8 years – and readjust to their normal lives. Of course, living so close to the White House can only make you wonder if Trump will actually call on the Democrat for advice.
On second thought, maybe not. Tensions are continuing to mount between the United States and Russia, and maybe Trump can finally end the clash between the two superpowers. Putin’s hacking, and Trump’s reaction can be found here.
