Adam Richard Wiles – known as Calvin Harris – has scored his 8th number 1 single in the UK with ‘Feels’.

The Scottish record producer’s latest track, Feels, which features Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry and Big Sean has claimed the number 1 spot by dethroning Despacito.

Stan Wawrinka out for remainder 2017 season with knee injury:

Stan Wawrinka will undergo knee surgery in hopes of preserving his future career.

“I am sad to announce that after talking with my team and doctor I had to make a difficult decision to undergo a medical intervention on my knee. This was the only solution to make sure I will be able to compete at the top level for many more years,” Wawrinka announced on Facebook.

BBC pay reveal: Chris Evans named as highest paid star:

Chris Evans is named as the highest paid star on the BBC.

The BBC have revealed the salaries of some of its highest paid stars, and on top of that list is Chris Evans.

The radio presenter has been listed as the highest paid star of the BBC, earning between £2.2m-£2.25m in 2016-2017.

Gary Lineker is second on the list with between £1.75m-£1.8m, Graham Norton is third with between £850,000 – £899,999, although this doesn’t include his earnings from The Graham Norton Show, as this is produced by another company.

Roger Federer wins a historic eigth title at Wimbledon:

Roger Federer defeated Marin Cilic in straight sets – 6-3 6-1 6-4 – in order to win his 19th Grand Slam title, and become the only male player to win eight titles at Wimbledon.

Andy Murray knocked out of Wimbledon by Sam Querrey in five sets:

The world number 1 was stunned by the big serving American in five sets.

Andy Murray lost 3-6, 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-1, 6-1 to Sam Querrey, making the American the first man into the semi-finals, and the first American into the semi-finals of a Grand Slam tournament since Andy Roddick in 2009.

EU agree “open & fair trade” deal with Japan:

Donald Tusk, the President of the European Council, and Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Comission, met with Shinzo Abe, the Prime Minister of Japan to agree a trade deal.

 

The details of the deal are currently unknown, although many suspect it would involve Japan’s automative industry, as the latter is one of the most prominent industries in the world.
